Blogsday
The public radio program Open Source aired their second annual edition of Blogsday on June 15th. Patterned after Bloomsday, the holiday observed annually on June 16th to celebrate the life of James Joyce and commemorate the events of the same day in Dublin in 1904 as written in Ulysses, Blogsday is an audio exploration of one day in the blogosphere.
Consisting of two actors responsively reading a variety of blog posts from June 6th, 2006, the Blogsday program lends a sense of beauty, importance, and intimacy to unknown bloggers' written words. Some posts are poignant, some are pithy, but almost all are fascinating. I love the way the show exposes our common humanity as demonstrated by blogs.
