Snow in Almaden!
Snow, glorious snow, has fallen in Almaden. Not just in the hills, but at my very doorstep. As I was leaving Bob's place, I saw what appeared to be snow falling in the moonlight. But I simply couldn't believe that it would be snowing here at less than 400 feet above sea level. So I presumed that my contacts were blurry and it must simply have been raining. Sir zLog, amazed, pointed out that it was indeed snowing.
Since it was surprisingly warm out, we spent a few minutes beneath the moon amid the wonderous falling snow. I even made a couple of good snowballs from the snow that was collecting on my car. They rapidly turned to ice, numbing my hands, and thereby causing the first projectile to miss it's mark.
Upon my return home, I noticed that my neighbor's new convertible was coated in snow (as was my mailbox). I remember seeing Mt. Umunhum capped in snow in years past; but I don't recall snow falling in the basin of Almaden Valley in my lifetime.
