How to drive 1,250 miles in three days
My friend Amit, the security guard on my Israel trip, was visiting California last week. Since he had been so nice to me in Israel (he even let me stay at his place in Tel Aviv for a couple nights after the group tour), I wanted to show him the same courtesy.
Little did I know this would amount to driving the following route:
Friday: San Jose to Monterey/Carmel, back to San Jose; up to San Francisco, across to Berkeley, and back to San Jose
Saturday: San Jose to Los Angeles, and around LA
Sunday: Los Angeles to Fremont BART to San Jose

Well, let's compare. Last year I flew about 125,000 miles and drove about 24,000 miles. 149,000 miles divided by 365 days/year means I averaged about 408 miles traveled each day in 2005. That leaves me only 26 miles shy of your 1250. Snot, am I tired.
I believe the flying needs to be held to a different standard. The speeds are much greater and distort the overall total. Still, it is more than clear that you travel huge amounts. Many of us have been the recipients of the perks of your crazy flying--and for that we are most grateful.
You got friendly with the security guard, but couldn't hit it up with the 19-22 FEMBOTS looking for some action overseas?
Ok, I'm just looking to post something here.
Ok - so driving I only average 65 miles each and every day, including weekends and holidays, frogsnoggit.
I still have the rLog beat in driving. I get 78 miles each day. So there.
Well, I happen to have one of the world's greatest commutes to work. Most days, I drive the MG (top down) to and from the club--a mere five miles round trip.
The limitied distance is one of the reasons I can take the MG. For if it breaks down, I'm never far from home or the club.
Oh, and in response to the off topic poster, I wasn't looking to hook-up. I did meet some nice female people on the trip; but none that I'm romantically interested in.
